The Marilyn Russell Scholarship

The Marilyn Russell scholarship award supports students in the One Health Master’s program who are originally from, or plan to use this degree to work in, rural Alaska. Ms. Russell’s generous gift is intended to support healthy sustainable communities, ecosystems and wildlife populations throughout rural Alaska. Students are eligible to apply for one award during their training.

Students interested in applying should submit an essay describing how the One Health program and this award will enable them to carry out their plans to work with rural communities to help manage One Health issues. Essays should not exceed 1,000 words.

The Ataurciurcaraq Sloan Family Endowed Scholarship

The Ataurciurcaraq Sloan Family Endowed Scholarship is offered in loving memory of lifelong learners Sam and Dubie Sloan It is dedicated to the sharing of knowledge and wisdom across generations, cultures, disciplines and species. Through education and by sharing our talents, traditions and gifts we become good stewards of our Earth and all its inhabitants. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to graduate students enrolled in the One Health Master's Degree program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Scholarship assistance will be in the amount of $1,000 to a student for two consecutive academic years. Therefore, recipients must maintain eligibility for the scholarship.*

*Must be an Alaska resident in the OHM program and maintain a 3.0 GPA
